DNR Information Available

The State of Ohio specific rules on standardizing the procedures physicians, emergency medical service personnel and health care facilities must use when withholding cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

 The rules also dictate standard forms for "do-not-resuscitate" (DNR) identification and provide resolution of conflict between DNR identification and Ohio's Living Will and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care. According to the rules, health care providers are also required to follow the DNR protocol and to withhold CPR from a person with DNR identification.

The AMC/NOMA has an information packet available to members, detailing the standardized DNR orders for physicians.
