Effective January 3, 2003, Palmetto GBA (Ohio/West Virginia) will begin receiving/sending the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act version of the American National Standards Institute 270 and 271 transaction sets for Eligibility Inquiry and Response.
For implementation of the 270/271 version 4010 transaction sets please note:
-The 270/271 will be supported in real-time by Medicare and not in batch.
-The 270/271 implementation guide adopted for
national use under HIPAA (004010X092, dated May, 2000), can be obtained at www.wpc-edi.com/HIPAA
