AP Poll Finds HealthCare One of Top Concerns in U.S.

Healthcare costs were second only to terrorism as the top concern of respondents in an Associated Press poll by Ipsos-Public Affairs.

In an open-ended format where respondents were asked to name the most important problems facing the United States, healthcare costs were mentioned by 19%, up from 11% a year ago and 5% two years ago. Twice as many women (26%) as men (13%) cited that as a top problem. Democrats were twice as likely as Republicans to say healthcare was one of the most important problems.

Terrorism was cited by 21% as the top problem and 14% said unemployment up from 9% a year ago.
