Ohio law allows APNs to write prescriptions February 1st
A new Ohio law will go into effect February 1st allowing Advanced Practice Nurses who hold a valid Certificate to Prescribe to write prescriptions. APNs will be able to write prescriptions based on several guidelines created through the Committee on Prescriptive Governance. The AMC/NOMA had a physician representative, Dr. Michael Gyves, appointed to this committee to provide input and comment. The AMC/NOMA legislative committee and board of directors also reviewed the guidelines prior to their approval by the committee.
