ACADEMY OF MEDICINE EDUCATION FOUNDATION (AMEF) GRANTS SIX $5,000.00 SCHOLARSHIPS TO AREA MEDICAL STUDENTS |

The Academy of Medicine Education Foundation has completed their review of scholarship applications for 2007. This year the Foundation is pleased to announce that six $5,000.00 scholarships were granted to: three medical students from Case School of Medicine, two medical students from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and one medical student from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. The AMEF awards scholarships each year to Third and Fourth year medical students (M.D. / D.O.) who are or were residents of Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Portage, or Summit counties, and who have demonstrated an interest in being involved in organized medicine, and community activities. Applicants must also possess leadership skills and demonstrate academic achievement. AMEF scholarships are be awarded to third and fourth year medical students attending the following: Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of CWRU, Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, or Ohio University College of Medicine. This year’s scholarship recipients will receive their award at the annual meeting of the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland & Northern Ohio (AMCNO) on April 27th at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Cleveland. Overall, AMEF has given out more than $1.3 million to such qualified students. |
