Act now to help fix Medicare Payment Update crisis

In June, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill supported by the AMC/NOMA and the AMA that addresses the Medicare physician payment crisis (HR 4954).  The Senate now needs to pass legislation that builds and improves upon the House provisions to provide positive updates over the next three years.  Physicians must let Senators know it is critical that they fix the current payment crisis this year.  To avoid a 4.4% reduction in the current conversion factor, a final bill adopted by both the House and Senate must be signed into law before November 1.  There is already widespread evidence that patient access to care is eroding as a result of Medicare payment cuts.

Tell your Senator that you want to provide medical care to America's seniors, but to do so Congress must fix the Medicare physician payment crisis.  You can locate and contact your Senator directly from our website at www.amcnoma.org by clicking on "Eye of the Statehouse" at the bottom of the homepage.
