AMC NOMA Co-Sponsors Event Highlighting the Needs of the Uninsured

On Wednesday, May 3rd, the AMC/NOMA participated in a Cover the Uninsured Week Forum with the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine Health System, WCLV, Sun Newspapers, and Twist Creative. The Forum, entitled, “The Uninsured and the Economy: Costs and Consequences” was held at Trinity Commons with keynote speaker Karen Davenport, Director of Health Policy at the Center for American Progress (featured also on Healthlines radio program the week of May 15—see This Month on Healthlines bullet below). Other speakers included John Bastulli, M.D., representing the AMC/NOMA, and a panel including physicians, policymakers and insurance representatives. Begun in 2003, this year's Cover the Uninsured Week (May 1-7) focuses on the nearly 46 million Americans currently without health insurance. It fosters discussion and seeks to generate solutions to provide health insurance to more people across the United States.
