AMCNO Organizes Legislative Breakfast Series at NE Ohio Hospitals

The Academy of Medicine of Cleveland & Northern Ohio is busy once again bringing state legislators and other elected officials to Northern Ohio hospitals for discussion meetings with physicians on topics of interest in medicine. On Friday, May 4th Rep. Barbara Boyd, Rep. Sandra Williams and Sen. Shirley Smith are invited to an event at St. Vincent Charity Hospital, wherein physicians will have an opportunity to speak one-on-one with legislators, voicing their concerns on current and potential legislation impacting the practice of medicine statewide. Next month’s breakfast meeting is open to all area physicians—as well as that scheduled for early June at Parma Hospital (more specific details in future email blasts). Don’t miss this opportunity to have your voice heard. Please call 216.520.1000 if you’d like to attend the 7 a.m. breakfast at St. Vincent’s, OR if you’d like the AMCNO to arrange a similar meeting with legislators at your facility.

** The Legislative Committee of the AMCNO is holding a special meeting next week to welcome Attorney General Marc Dann, listening to concerns and sharing his views on professional liability insurance, alternative dispute resolution, access to care and issues of the uninsured, physician insurance claims and reimbursement issues among others. The committee will also review several important healthcare-related bills currently being considered in the 127th General Assembly. **
