AMCNO Pollen Line Kicks Off Allergy Season

The Academy of Medicine of Cleveland & Northern Ohio (AMCNO) announces the startup of its annual Pollen Line on Monday, April 6, 2009, assisting those with seasonal allergies now for more than 46 years. This vital community service provides a line of defense to many who suffer from sneezing, itching, runny noses, and watering eyes when the pollen starts to fly.

The AMCNO is pleased that Allergists Robert W. Hostoffer, D.O., Theodore H. Sher, M.D. and Haig Tcheurekdjian, M.D. of the Allergy/Immunology Associates Inc. will once again provide daily pollen counts along with preventative methods to help allergy sufferers cope with the sniffling and sneezing brought on by the season.

The AMCNO Pollen Line will open for business and provide pollen counts Monday through Friday, beginning April 6, 2009 through October 1, 2009. Drs. Hostoffer, Sher and Tcheurekdjian’s report is updated weekdays by 8:00 a.m. and available either via a telephone recording or online at here

The public can call the free hotline at (216) 520-1050, accessible 24-hours a day, to hear this recorded report on the density of the allergens, probable effects on those sensitive to such agents, and what precautions to take.

During the week of March 30, 2009, Amy Marks, D.O., also of the Allergy/Immunology Associates Inc., will be the featured guest on the AMCNO acclaimed radio program Healthlines to discuss the Pollen Line, airing Monday, Wednesday and Friday on WCLV 104.9 FM at 5:45 p.m.
