AMC/NOMA begins radio ad campaign on WDOK 102.1 FM

Thanks to the assistance of hospitals, physicians and our legislative subcommittee the AMC/NOMA starts a two-week radio ad campaign on WDOK 102.1 FM beginning on Saturday October 19th and running through November 1st.  The 60-second ads include the following text:

There is a medical liability crisis in Ohio that you should know about.  And, if it is not addressed immediately, it will affect your medical care.  It is already affecting doctors and hospitals.

It is a crisis that is forcing doctors to leave their medical practice and scaring young people away from entering the practice of medicine.  This crisis is a threat to quality medical care and will adversely affect how you and your family will be cared for and the price you pay for that care in the future.

Your doctor is forced to pay outrageous prices for medical liability coverage due to the lack of tort reform in the state of Ohio. What you have heard is true – this medical liability crisis has already forced doctors to close their doors or eliminate procedures – limiting your access to quality health care.

What can be done?  Support judicial reform. Support medical liability reform.  Contact your state representatives. Ask them to reform Ohio’s medical liability laws.   Let's save Ohio medicine and keep your doctor practicing.   A message from the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland/Northern Ohio Medical Association.”
