CMS to conduct On-Site HIPAA compliance reviews

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) plans to begin conducting on site HIPAA Security compliance reviews. The number of reviews conducted in 2008 will be limited, however, and they plan to focus on entities that have been the targets of HIPAA Security complaints or have publicly disclosed security problems.
