If you're immunizing patients against influenza and pneumonia, The Ohio/West Virginia roster billing instructions for billing flu and pneumonia injections have been updated. ALL VALID ICD-9 diagnosis codes will be accepted for influenza and pneumococcal injections.(OH/WV)
Influenza and pneumococcal vaccinations and administration may continue to be submitted to the Medicare program on roster bills, even if an entity is not a small provider. This type of claims submission is an exception to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirement that all claims be submitted electronically to Medicare, effective October 16, 2003.
