A 79-year-old Scioto County man has contracted what is thought to be Ohio's first case of West Nile Virus in 2004, state health department officials announced. The Ohio Department of Health has reported that last year the state had 108 probable and confirmed human cases of the virus. Eight of those cases resulted in deaths.
