Health IT Review Project Seeks Physician Input

Because the effective adoption of health information technology and the exchange of health information is a critical component of all proposals to control health costs and enhance the quality and effectiveness of health care, the Health Policy Institute of Ohio applied for and received a federal contract focusing on health information privacy and security. HPIO is serving as the convener to help create a strategic road map and policy recommendation to enhance the adoption of health IT and health information exchange in Ohio. HPIO seeks to obtain input and wants to make sure that association members such as AMC/NOMA physicians have the opportunity to provide input into this work. In the second half of August, HPIO is holding a series of 3 hour meetings to obtain such input related to health IT adoption and exchange. For physicians in particular, the session on clinical issues will be held Aug. 18 at 9:30 a.m. in Columbus.
