In Memoriam AMCNO Past President Robert J. White

On October 3rd at 3 p.m. a Memorial Mass will take place at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 12601 Shaker Blvd., Cleveland, Ohio in memory of AMCNO Past President Robert J. White. Dr. White was president of the AMCNO in 1978-79, and he was also a member of the AMCNO executive committee and board of directors. Dr. White served as chairman of the AMCNO Ethics Committee and host of the AMCNO’s award-winning radio program Healthlines for many years. In 1981 Dr. White received the John H. Budd, M.D., Distinguished Membership Award from the AMCNO followed in 1998 by the AMCNO Charles A. Hudson, M.D., Distinguished Service Award. Dr. White still served as a member of the AMCNO Honors Committee. Dr. White graduated from the College of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, earned a medical degree at Harvard University and spent six years at the Mayo Clinic, earning a Ph.D in neurosurgery. Throughout his long career, Dr. White was the recipient of many awards and honors including papal knighthoods, honorary doctorates and visiting professorships.
