Medical Mutual of Ohio Enters Medicare Market

Medical Mutual of Ohio has won approval from the federal government to market Medicare products in 2007 in the areas of Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Columbus, Toledo and Youngstown. CMS approved the company’s Advantage Plan, consisting of five different plans consumers can choose from. Three of the products offer medical and prescription drug benefits, while the other two options offer prescription drug benefits alone. A company spokesperson said the new products will allow consumers the choice to seek care from a network provider at the higher coverage level or to access care outside the network provider at reduced benefit levels. They will not require a referral to see a primary or specialty care physician.
