Beginning in Nov., Palmetto GBA will be distributing the 2005 Medicare Participation Enrollment and Physician Fee Schedule packet via CD-ROM. Benefits of CD-ROM distribution include: the ability to search the fee schedule electronically, the ability to print as many hard copies as you need, the ability to view only the portions that are applicable to your practice, the ability to copy information from computer to computer and the ease of storage and retrieval

The CD-ROM will contain: a cover letter, a fact sheet, a resource and contact listing, the CY 2005 Medicare Participation Enrollment announcement and agreement and the physician fee schedule reports (Ohio, West Virginia, and South Carolina). As a bonus, the CD-ROM will contain a great deal of additional information not available in the requested print version including: information regarding CMS 855 applications, information regarding Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), information regarding claims submission, information on global surgery, deductible/co-insurance rates, and deleted/invalid/non-covered codes.
The fee schedule itself will be available in PDF, HTML and CSV formats. It should be readable by any system with Microsoft Windows or Macintosh OS 8 or greater. If you do not have a computer or if your computer lacks a CD-ROM drive, you can request a printed copy of the fee schedule at no charge by returning the detachable post card accompanying the CD-ROM. Additional printed copies will be available for a fee of $10.00.
