National Provider Identifier (NPI) Request Letters

Recently Palmetto GBA notified the AMCNO that they have initiated a change when requesting additional information from providers when a one to one National Provider Identifier (NPI) match could not be made for submitted claims. In certain situations in the past, providers may have received numerous request letters (one for each claim in question). Effective November 16, 2007, providers will only receive one request letter for all claims submitted that day. On rare occasions a provider may receive more than one request letter, since there is a limit to the number of claims that can be included.
