The Food and Drug Association recently announced its joint venture with the National Cancer Institute (a part of the National Institutes of Health) to share knowledge and resources to facilitate the development of new cancer drugs and speed their delivery to patients. The collaboration between the two agencies will take advantage of their combined knowledge base. An NCI/FDA Oncology Task Force, involving senior staff from both agencies, will oversee implementation of the specific components of the agreement.
