O'Boyle Named New COO at Cleveland Clinic Foundation

Michael O'Boyle is the new chief operating officer of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, officials announced Monday. O'Boyle, 49, who joined the system in 2001 as chief financial officer, replaces Frank Lordeman, who will retire next month after 13 years in the position. O'Boyle will have overall responsibility for operations at the main campus as well as the hospitals and business units within the Cleveland Clinic Health System and Cleveland Clinic Florida. He will oversee construction of the new $400 million Heart Center as well. The Cleveland Clinic, an 11-hospital system, employs more than 1500 physicians representing more than 100 medical specialties and generated revenue of $3.8 billion in 2004.
