Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC) asking for feedback on the 2009 BWC provider fee schedule

The AMCNO has been contacted by the BWC seeking comment and feedback on the proposed 2009 provider fee schedules. The AMCNO is providing our members with the contact information in the event you wish to comment by the deadline.

BWC has completed a comprehensive review of our professional fee schedule for medical procedures, services and supplies. As a result, we propose updating the entire BWC fee schedule, including all CPT (Current Procedure Terminology) and HCPCS (Health Care Procedural Coding System) codes. You can review the proposed fee schedule by logging on to www.ohiobwc.com  and clicking on “Medical Providers”.

How to submit your feedback – BWC has created an e-mail box for you to provide your feedback. Please submit your comments to: providerfeedback@bwc.state.oh.us . Please include contact information with your name, phone number, email address, and practice and/or specialty, if applicable – BWC will accept comments through May 26, 2009.

Any change or revision to the fee schedule must go through the Ohio rule-making process before it becomes final. BWC will give serious consideration to comments received by the deadline before they submit the fee schedule proposal to the BWC Board of Directors for its first consideration on May 28. BWC has noted that September 2009 is the earliest date the fee schedule would go into effect if the board approves the proposal this month.
