The U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions on Wednesday advanced the bipartisan Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act. The bill establishes a system for reporting and analyzing health care errors to improve patient safety and health care quality. The action allows the bill to move to the full Senate for a vote. The U.S. House passed a similar bill in March.
