Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Revise Code

There are new revised guidelines for ethical interactions between PhRMA members and physicians now available. The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) revised its voluntary code, which is more commonly known as “PhRMA Code,” to address various topics including issues related to continuing medical education and gifts. A member of the AMCNO Medical Legal Liaison Committee has agreed to prepare a detailed article for the March/April issue of the Northern Ohio Physician magazine covering the issue of pharmaceutical/medical device detail representatives and an update on rules for interactions with them, including recent phRMA code changes.
