The Academy of Medicine Cleveland & Northern Ohio is pleased to present our 24th Annual Mini-Internship program October 21 thru 22, 2008. The program is designed to improve understanding and communication between the medical profession and those in the community who influence, establish, and report on healthcare policy in Northeastern Ohio. Interns have the opportunity to spend a half-day with four physicians, accompanying him or her through everything from office rounds to surgery. The Mini-Internship is a two-way information exchange intended to broaden the perspectives of all participants. Through shared experiences, this project allows interns to witness firsthand the demands and rewards of the medical profession during a typical physician workday. As of the end of August, the AMCNO has seven interns committed to participate in the program, including staff from the Ohio Department of Insurance, legislators, members of Cleveland City Council, and other prominent members of the community. We now need AMCNO members to participate in the program and act as faculty for the interns. If you are and AMCNO member and you are interested in participating as faculty for this year's program, please contact Debbie Blonski, 216-520-1000 ext. 102 or Linda Hale, ext. 101, or email lhale@amcnoma.org to sign up for the program. |
