Sen. Coughlin Meets with AMC/NOMA, Addresses Legislative Committee

Sen. Kevin Coughlin, (R-Cuyahoga Falls) met with AMC/NOMA leadership and members of the legislative committee this week, fielding questions and discussing a range of issues including various bills pending action in the state legislature of interest to physicians in NE Ohio and an initiative regarding a proactive stance on a potential flu pandemic, for which AMC/NOMA staff and members volunteered to partner with any future efforts in the local community. Coughlin lauded the AMC/NOMA leadership for their “innovative ideas” and far-reaching vision on issues affecting both medical professionals and the patients they serve throughout the state. He cited SB 88, and forms of alternative dispute resolution as “prime examples” of imaginative solutions for the medical malpractice crisis still a reality for area physicians. On this, Coughlin said he “looked forward to seeing some action on the bill (SB 88) this fall.”
