State Representative Greg Jolivette Continues Hearings on Specialty Hospitals

State Representative Greg Jolivette (R- Hamilton, Health Chair), after an interested parties meeting on June 10, 2003, and holding a third hearing on House Bill 71, has decided to continue committee hearings on the controversial bill. The bill, which prohibits physicians from making referrals to in-patient facilities in which they have an ownership interest, was introduced last General Assembly and has had many hearings in the House Health Committee.

"We have debated this issue for two years now and I feel that there is potential for compromise," Jolivette said. "I plan to work on this issue over the summer break and have a possible vote at the end of August."
