The WellPoint, Inc. (WellPoint)/Anthem settlement was reached July 11, 2005. Physicians were mailed the "Notice of Proposed Settlement of Class Actions with WellPoint, Inc." on August 19, 2005. This notice included instructions for completing the proof of claim form and the November 17, 2005 deadline to file the form with the Physician Settlement Administrator. Physicians need to be aware that the Settlement/Fairness Hearing is scheduled for December 2, 2005. This Hearing will determine if the WellPoint/Anthem settlement is approved and if the claim disbursements will be made.
