Where AMC/NOMA members and patients may receive Information on West Nile Virus

 

 

    AMC/NOMA members and staff should be aware that state health officials have reported that the West Nile virus has been found in Concord Township in Lake County. No human cases have been reported at this time.  The West Nile Virus is a Class A2 reportable disease in Ohio.  Precautions for Cuyahoga County include scheduled sprayings and public education campaigns.  Up to date information about the virus, including signs, symptoms, laboratory testing and reporting may be obtained through the Ohio Department of Health at 614-752-1029 (Vector-Borne Disease Program) or toll-free at 1-888-411-4142.  Dead blue jays or crows should be reported to the local health departments (Cuyahoga County 216-443-5643).  Information may also be obtained through the following websites: www.odh.state.oh.us (search for West Nile), www.cdc.gov (search for West Nile), www.nwhc.usgs.gov.
